USAOS Statement on President Trump’s Meeting with U.S. Airline Leaders
Washington D.C. – The U.S. Airlines for Open Skies Coalition (USAOS) today issued the following statement after President Trump met with leaders of the U.S. aviation industry, including several USAOS member CEOs:
“Open Skies agreements support American jobs, made-in-America exports, and the U.S. military – issues prioritized by the Trump Administration. Caving to the demands of the legacy carriers would jeopardize the benefits these agreements bring to U.S. workers, families, and airports and the communities they serve. Our coalition and other airlines not aligned with the legacy carriers employ 942,000 people, more than three times the number employed by the legacy carriers.”
U.S. Airlines for Open Skies (USAOS) is a coalition of four U.S. passenger and cargo carriers – Atlas Air Worldwide, FedEx, Hawaiian Airlines, and JetBlue Airways – that collectively transports approximately 42 million passengers annually, ships nearly 8 million tons of cargo, and employs nearly 430,000 people.
